Rectify (Get On Up)

"The savior's descent is necessary to effect rectification".

If you've been following this blog you know I've been writing a lot about the TV show "Rectify" in my last few posts.

In my next post I'll offer a fuller explanation of how the show Rectify is a modern spin on the idea of the Gnostic process of rectification, and how that process is reflected in the events playing out in the world at this time.

But for now here's a sneak preview.

Passage from The Coptic Gnostic Library: A Complete Edition of the Nag Hammadi

I previously described this process as an ascension, but, of course, every ascension must first begin with a descent.

As the late James Brown brilliantly showed us, you can't "Get On Up" unless you were down in the first place.

James Cameron is the first person to have made a solo descent into the depths of the Mariana Trench. His movie about the adventure, Deepsea Challenge, hits U.S. theaters today (Friday 8/8/14).

The Mariana Trench is located southeast of Guam. Notably, Anderson Air Force Base in Guam is one of the locations where some speculate missing Flight MH370 may have been forced to land (decend).

The trench is 7 miles (11km) deep. In the above article, James Cameron said:
"It's unbelievable, it's like the MOON."
In other news, on 8/3/2014 another man made a "first decent".  Ebola virus victim Dr. Kent Brantley stepped down from the ambulance onto the ground outside an Atlanta (Atlantis) hospital.

Wearing a full hazmat suit, the scene was intentionally reminiscent of astronaut Neil Armstrong's first decent down the ladder of the Apollo 11 space craft to the cratered surface of the MOON.

On July 20, 1969, Commander Neil Armstrong became the first man on the moon.

Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon.

Brantly is 33 years-old, the same age Christian's believe their savior god Jesus Christ was at the time of his death.  In this video posted by an eyewitness at the scene, note the woman in the background repeatedly exclaiming, "That's him. Oh my God."

In a rush to weave the moment into myth, a CNN reporter wrote:
"The sight of Dr. Kent Brantly, a victim of the Ebola virus, walking from an ambulance to the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta in his hazmat suit may become an iconic photo of modern American history."
More in my next post. To be continued...

The ISIS Crisis

Somehow the Divine Male has pushed the Divine Feminine, personified as the goddess Isis, too far.

And now she's mad.

As usual, this is not a political post, but rather an attempt to observe how schisms in our Collective Consciousness project outward and appear as synchronous events in our reality.

Previously I discussed actress Paula Patton's role as the archetypal GIRL and the struggle between the divine male and female being played out in her public marital split with husband and singer Robin Thicke.

Text message from Paula in the opening scene of Thicke's "Get Her Back" video.

The Get Her Back video is generating a bad rap, but I don't agree with the Illuminati mind control interpretation in this case.  As a person who has watched the movie Deja Vu probably 50 or more times, it's clear to me that the video's imagery is meant to be a reflection of that film.

In the movie, Denzel Washington plays Paula's fictional cosmic lover who travels through time, rescues her from a brutal murderer (Destiny/Fate), and ultimately sacrifices his own life to break the glass (of illusion) and save her from drowning in a ferry explosion.

Paula Patton swimming to safety after Denzel breaks the glass to save her in the movie Deja Vu.

In the Get Her Back video Thicke recognizes that he is Paula's real life, time-traveling cosmic lover, however in his estimation he has tried but failed to save her this go 'round because he was distracted by the things of the world (of forms).  Thus, we see him looking beat up from unsuccessfully fighting the murderer followed by images of a model who strongly resembles Paula drowning.

At the end of the video, Thicke's text reply to Paula indicates that, like Denzel in Deja Vu,
despite his many failed attempts he's still going back to try to save her...again.

But currently Robin Thicke has gone from writing one song about getting the GIRL back, to writing a whole album dedicated to her that many critics are calling a pathetically misguided and ultimately narcissistic attempt to reunite with his wife.

Robin Thicke's new album, Paula, to be released July 2nd on Interscope Records.

"This is an issue with men in general: the misogynistic failure to accept that "other people’s bodies and other people’s love are not something that can be taken nor even something that can be earned" but rather things that "can be given freely, by choice, or not."The Daily Beast

This scene from the TV series Rectify shows the emotional and physical gulf between Tawny
and her husband Ted as they argue inside their family's tire store in the fictional town of PAULIE.
(Season 2, Ep. 2, "Sleeping Giants", airdate: 6/26/14).
I'm drastically oversimplifying it, but from a universal perspective this illustrates the rift between
Pauline Christianity's doctrine of original sin versus the Gnostic view that
when the "Two become One" they can escape the "Wheel of Fate".

At this point I'm going to conflate the two goddesses Isis and Kali because they're both faces of the same underlying archetypal feminine energy— Isis, the nurturing wife/mother, and Kali, the vengeful wife/mother.

Isis (left and middle); Kali (right)

We can see both faces now because we have pierced the veil of Maya (the false duality of object and subject) and are in the process of moving to a higher state.

On the world stage our milestone in consciousness paralleled the crossing over of Maya Angelou, a tremendously powerful woman who was an exemplary manifestation of the "feeling/sensing/aware" part of us.

But moving from duality back into a state of Oneness is a monumentally difficult transition fraught with pitfalls and dangerous distractions.

—from The Gospel of Thomas

In order to succeed, form (or matter) must be infused with Spirit.  With Spirit we float, we fly.  Without it we drown.  We fall back to ground like so many empty shells.

Nothing enrages the Divine Mother more than the threat of her children in danger.

On the TV show Game of Thrones, the archetypal mother Catelyn Stark dies in a bloodbath defending her family at the end of Season 3.  However, in the book version, she's resurrected as Lady Stoneheart, the immortal mother raining down vengeance on all those who dared hurt her children.

Catelyn Stark, Lady of Winterfell, with blood on her hands.

In fact, the entire Game of Thrones story line reads like a lineup of fierce women, from young to old, from mothers of kings to mothers of dragons, who will do anything to save their families trapped in the shadow of the Iron Throne.

The Warrier Women of Game of Thrones

Cersei's threat to anyone who would harm her last surviving son.
(Game of Thrones, Season 4 finale, "The Children", airdate: 6/15/14)

One glance at the daily news is all it takes to chronicle the atrocities being done to children lately from school shootings to mass kidnappings  (see the Twilight Language blog post "Suffer the Little Children").

Yet, to the Gnostics "Little children" was simply a coded phrase.

Note: "Saying 22" links to the proliferation of number 22 syncs I've been seeing everywhere.
The Number 22 as both the last of the Tarot trumps and the last letter of the Hebrew
alphabet (Tau=22) also denotes the 'end of a cycle' of Time...but I digress.

Therefore, the violent projections emerging out of our Collective Consciousness really represent us desperately trying to free and save our "child" selves from the Black Iron Prison.

The question remains then, how does one pacify the vengeful mother goddess Isis-Kali?  Well, according to myth only her husband Shiva can calm her.

In Jungian terms I believe this means that the masculine side of our Collective Consciousness must integrate the Anima, the projection of the feminine side, rather than objectifying her and viewing her power as a threat.

So, keep begging Robin Thicke, keep begging.  Maybe she'll come around.

Emily Blunt (as the Divine Warrior Feminine) and Tom Cruise (as the Divine Male)
combine forces to defeat the wheel of Fate and Time in the movie Edge of Tomorrow.
If you haven't seen it yet, go see it.

By the same token, the feminine aspect of consciousness must integrate her male Animus rather than displaying animosity.  There has to be a true recognition of each other's unique yet complimentary strengths and a realization that one CAN NOT exist without the other.

As the late, great Bobby Womack crooned, "If you think you're lonely now, wait until tonight GIRL."

To win, the Two must become One.

UPDATE 7/1/14:

He's coming :) ...

I love the part when he says "I'm here about a GIRL." And the soundtrack singing 'it's too late to start over.' yep. It's going down.

A Gnostic Analysis of Chris Brown's 'Don't Judge Me'

The video opens with our unlikely saviour walking along a path that leads through a field of windmills.

This is reminiscent of famed literary character Don Quixote's fantastical heroic quest...tilting at windmills.  The windmills represent the giant machines of institutions and governments that need attacking as well as our old personal traditions and belief systems that must be overcome.  They also symbolize a modern version of the cross of crucifixion (sacrifice of Ego/Self).

"The Intimate Christ, the Son of the Father of all the Lights, must seek Pistis Sophia in order to save her." (Pistis Sophia Revealed, Chapter 39)

Quixote is convinced that he is a hero, The One who can save the princess and restore chivalry and balance to the world.  It is a Fool's Journey.

"I don't wanna go there. We should never go there. Why you wanna go there? I guess I gotta go there." (Intro song lyrics)

A glowing chip is embedded in Chris(t) Brown's neck and strings of numbers course through his veins like blood.

He is The One, the living embodiment of the Word.
(a high-tech version of Denzel Washington's character in The Book of Eli)

Denzel Washington's reminder to himself in a scene from the movie Deja Vu...You Can Save Her.

Brown sets off on his quest and along the way he discovers the fallen princess alone in a room.

The role is played by model/actress Runa Lucienne who's name literally translates to "Secret Light".  She is Sophia, the light hidden in the darkness.

The fallen princess. Sleeping Beauty dreaming of her hero.

"It came to pass then thereafter that...I entered in into the thirteenth Γ¦on and found Pistis Sophia below the thirteenth Γ¦on all alone and no one of them with her." (Christ, Pistis Sophia, Chapter 29)

His Light shines upon her, waking her from the dream-like, near-death state in which she has been suspended for countless cycles of time.  Light = Life.

The Flower of Life

The Flower of Life motif in the pattern of light shining on The Lovers.

She awakens in agitation from the torments she has suffered while trapped.  And she is disappointed to find that he is not the perfect hero of her dreams, not realizing that he is but a mirror of her own broken self.

"It came to pass then, when Pistis Sophia saw me shining most exceedingly and with no measure for the light which was about me, that she was in great agitation and gazed at the light of my vesture. She saw the mystery of her name on my vesture..." (Christ, Pistis Sophia, Chapter 29)

Notice how Brown sits higher up in the shadows mirroring her saddened pose. For all the while as she suffered, he suffered.  As above, so below.

Grieving Sophia.
He voluntarily fell from the Height, playing different roles in successive lifetimes through descending states of sin and darkness to finally reach her.

In the song, this is reflected by Runa's reaction to rumors of Brown's infidelity and his attempt to explain.

"I won't deny what they're saying because most of it is true, but it was all before I FELL for you." (song's lyrics)

His travels through the multiple parallel dimensions of Time (encountering a version of her in each one) remain a mystery beyond her current ability to comprehend.  Realizing this from prior attempts, he knows explanation is futile.

"I've been through this so many times. Can we change the subject?" (song's lyrics)

Pistis Sophia, or Faith and Wisdom on her part, is required.  To judge him is to judge herself.  Conversely, to accept him is to accept herself.

"Please don't judge me.  And I won't judge you.  And if you love me, then let it be beautiful." (song lyrics)

Here we see that there is both an inner journey of personal integration to psychic wholeness and an outer manifestation of that journey taking place simultaneously on a universal level.  Again, as above so below.

Brown brings the concept home by sporting a black pyramid logo on the back of his space jumpsuit at the end of the video.

As Above, So Below

Runa/Sophia now appears in the role of a reporter rushing to interview Brown in the last moments before he leaves on his mission.  She must tell The Story.

This is the dynamic of the He/She, the interdependent relationship between the Dreamt Of and the Dreamer. She can only be saved if he is a hero, but he is only a hero because she believes he can save her.

Their redemption and salvation (and thus the whole world's) is intimately, cosmically tied to one another...always.

Alas, it is a suicide mission.

Brown is strapped into a chair and shot out into space (just like Jodie Foster in the movie Contact).
(In a nice real life sync wink, Runa Lucienne was an engineering intern at NASA in 2009 where she worked on the design of the Orion cockpit.)

He is the weapon, the Living Light.

He detonates and destroys the evil coming to take over the Earth.

"I'm doing a service for my country and my planet. If that means saving the people I love and I care about, then that's what I'll do." (Brown's last words in the video)

"For the sake of sinners, therefore, have I torn myself asunder at this time and have brought them the mysteries, that I may free them from the Γ¦ons of the rulers and bind them to the inheritances of the Light..." (Christ, Pistis Sophia, Chapter 133)

In the final scene of the video The Lovers are together again, locked in an eternal embrace that transcends time and death.

The Pistis Sophia (the aspect of Soul within each one of us that longs to end its suffering and be redeemed) joined with the Intimate Christ (x)

Death is but a door.
