Smoke and Sugar

The odd sync web connecting lost planes and people—Lauren Bacall, Robin Williams, and Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO.

It all began on 7/18 I when saw this Twitter post showing the female form as a wisp of smoke.

The same day there was an epic R.J. Reynolds lawsuit settlement awarded to a smoker's widow in Florida.

Note: The feminine smoke figure on the box of Capri cigarettes in this photo.

I had an offhand thought about smoke and air, and how the smoke syncs could be related to The Smoke Monster in the TV show Lost (note: more AIRplanes falling out of the sky this past month in UkraineIran and Brazil).

On 8/4, fellow sync blogger Merovee posted this pic of a man smoking a cigarette with the smoke trail forming a woman's face.

Turns out, the man in the pic was Humphrey Bogart and the woman was his wife Lauren Bacall.  Bacall passed away a week later on 8/12, the same day as famed comic Robin Williams.

Lauren BAcall (thanks Jason). In ancient Egyptian beliefs the BA was the soul or spirit.

Robin Williams' joyful comedy lifted our spirits in so many ways.  In both he and Bacall's deaths we symbolically see the loss of two original, fundamental creating principles of a divine nature—Beauty and Joy.

Like a lifeless body devoid of the invigorating breath of life (note: BREATH/AIR is choked out by smoke), Form without the animating principle of Spirit/Beauty/Joy...is dead.

On 8/7, Twitter notified me that I had a new follower. When I clicked on it, this was her profile header:

I also noticed a smoke sync on the new HBO series "The Leftovers", a show about the aftermath of a rapture-like event where random people around the world are LOST when they simply vanish into thin AIR.

On "The Leftovers" a weird cult called The Guilty Remnant wear all-white and chain smoke.
In the FAQ of the fictional Guilty Remnant's website they state: “God’s judgment is upon us.
We don’t expect to be around for very long.” Chain-smoking is the GR’s way of showing
the world that they’ve accepted this fact and aren’t afraid to face whatever’s coming.

On 8/9, an unarmed African American teenager, Michael Brown, was shot and killed on the street by police in Ferguson, MO.

Protests erupted and soon photos emerged of cops releasing tear gas on crowds of people rioting in the neighborhood.

A Ferguson resident engulfed in a cloud of SMOKE from tear gas.
"Look, he is coming with the clouds..." (Rev. 1:7)

Today 8/15...Ferguson police say Michael Brown was allegedly suspected of stealing a $48.99 box of Swisher Sweets CIGARS.

  1. Notice how close that Florida payout figure (no pun intended on the word figure) is to the number 237 ?
Reminds me of the lady emerging from the bathtub in "The Shining" and I had to laugh at the photo of the cigarette display case as an upcoming post of mine is about meeting the lady known as "The Camel Lady",who crossed the desert of Australia in the 70's on foot and with a group of camels.
A movie was made of her journey (which she was very pleased with) called "Tracks" starring Mia Wasikowska of "Alice in Wonderland",as her.

    1. Funny. I my original title for this post was "Where There's Smoke..." but I changed it at the last minute to include the sugar syncs.

  3. The Ferguson Tear Gas Bomb picture is a bad try to reenact my Twitter page design [at least now I know why I chose the space smoke background ...]

You should include the "Eastbourne Pier" woman: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2014/07/31/1406808105855_Image_galleryImage_Woman_Drinks_Cider_While_.JPG

    1. Arcade Fire?

"Among the more than 300 comments posted beneath her picture, one person joked: 'She's smokin'.' Others wrote 'looks like an album cover' and 'that girl is on fire'."
